Mornings with Belinda Sanders

A rain gauge placed at the headwaters of the Emu Swamp Dam site has proven the storage facility would now be filled!

The dam, which will hold twelve thousand megalitres and supply around 50 producers, is open to design and construction tenders.

Granite Belt Water CEO Lloyd Taylor told Belinda Sanders the project involves a 12,000 megalitre dam at Emu Swamp, south-west of Stanthorpe, and 126km of pipeline throughout the Granite Belt.

It will deliver 3,900 megalitres of water per year at 90% reliability to around agribusiness customers.

The Granite Belt Irrigation Project is expected to provide the Granite Belt with a new water storage and irrigation facility by 2023.
